Cutter Accused Of Attempting To Kill Elderly Woman In Baltimore Home, Police Say

The man who allegedly slashed a 70-year-old woman in Baltimore who required emergency surgery is being accused of attempted murder, according to police.

City resident William Bowles, 29, has been arrested for his alleged role in the early morning stabbing of an elderly woman in the 500 block of Otterbein Street late in November. 

The cutting incident was reported shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27.

Investigating officers called to the reported cutting say that they found the woman suffering from a "severe laceration" to her body, and she was taken to an area hospital, where she had to undergo surgery. 

She was listed in stable condition on Tuesday, a Baltimore Police spokesperson said.

Bowles was arrested without incident and charged with attempted first-degree murder and additional charges related to the cutting. No information about his next court appearance was released by the department.
